Slack alerts

Slack alerts post a message to a Slack channel of your choice whenever a monitor goes down or recovers. They are available on all paid plans.

How to set up Slack alerts

You will need to create a Slack Incoming Webhook URL and paste it into the monitor form. Here is how:

  1. Go to api.slack.com/apps and click Create New App. Choose From scratch, give it a name (e.g. "Alive24x7"), and select your Slack workspace.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Incoming Webhooks and toggle it to On.
  3. Click Add New Webhook to Workspace, select the channel you want alerts posted to, and click Allow.
  4. Copy the webhook URL — it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/....
  5. Open the monitor form in Alive24x7, paste the webhook URL into the Slack webhook URL field, and save.

What the Slack message looks like

Down alerts appear as a red-highlighted message showing the monitor name, the error, and the time of failure. Recovery alerts appear in green with the total downtime duration.

Each monitor has its own Slack webhook field, so you can send different monitors to different Slack channels.
