Scheduling a maintenance window

A maintenance window lets you schedule a period of planned downtime during which all alerts for a monitor are suppressed. This prevents you from receiving false alarms when you are intentionally taking a service offline for updates or maintenance.

How to schedule a maintenance window

  1. Click Maintenance in the top navigation bar.
  2. Click Schedule maintenance.
  3. Select the monitor you are performing maintenance on.
  4. Set the start date and time and the end date and time.
  5. Optionally add a label or reason (e.g. "Database upgrade").
  6. Click Save.

What happens during a maintenance window

  • Checks continue to run as normal — results are still recorded in history.
  • No email, Slack, or SMS alerts are sent, even if the check fails.
  • The monitor on your dashboard shows a Maintenance badge for the duration of the window.

What happens after the window ends

Alerting resumes automatically when the maintenance window ends. If the monitor is still DOWN at that point, a down alert will be sent.

Maintenance windows are available on Pro and Team plans. They are not available on the Trial or Starter plans.
